For adults who never stop experiencing life, there is a place and a community that celebrates learning in a relaxed and accepting environment. We invite you to join us in a learning adventure through the Osher Lifelong Learning Institute at Penn State York (OLLI at Penn State York). OLLI is open to all adults who love to learn.
What is OLLI at Penn State York?
OLLI at Penn State York is a volunteer-driven organization established to enrich the lives of mature adults living in York County by providing a variety of educational and social activities. We are one of more than 100 lifelong learning institutes across the nation that is partially supported by a grant from the Bernard Osher Foundation.
How does OLLI at Penn State York work?
OLLI at Penn State York is a membership organization. Members may participate in any of the OLLI activities, which include courses and special events. OLLI activities usually take place during the day. They are designed for pure enjoyment, and there are no requirements, exams, or grades. All activities are designed by members for members.
What are the fees for OLLI at Penn State York?
Because OLLI at Penn State York is largely volunteer-run, the fees are kept low. Membership dues are $50 per year and are required for most courses. OLLI members’ course and events fees vary according to the length in sessions, cost of course materials, and sometimes due to admission tickets. See course descriptions for fee details. Single-session courses are $8 for members and $15 for nonmembers. Bus trips cost from $60 to $100; trips are open to members and nonmembers. If you are not an OLLI member, please review the course description to see if the specific course you are interested in is offered to nonmembers. Nonmembers only may register to take up to three single-session courses per semester.
Where do OLLI at Penn State York activities take place?
Most OLLI at Penn State York activities take place on the Penn State York campus.
How can I join OLLI at Penn State York?

OLLI at Penn State York
1031 Edgecomb Avenue
York, PA 17403
For more information, contact OLLI at 717-771-4015 or email firstname.lastname@example.org.
Prior registration is required for all classes. There will be no walk-ins. This will enable us to schedule the room (size) and tell the presenter how many students to prepare for if they have handouts. This could also prevent cancellations due to low enrollment.
If You are Unable to Attend a Class
Refunds will be in the form of credit only, no cash. Credit will be given only if you call the office at least one week before the start of a course. Call the OLLI office at 717-771-4015 to receive credit or if you have further questions. Because OLLI is obligated to pay the full price for transportation we will make the following cancellation policy effective on listed trips. No refunds or credits for withdrawing a trip registration without at least one month’s notice before the trip date.
IT’S YOUR OLLI!
A special message about volunteering
OLLI members and volunteer instructors are the heartbeat of the institute and are the reason it continues to thrive while keeping fees low.
OLLI members can choose from a variety of volunteer opportunities. For example, they may help in our office, teach a course, or serve in a leadership position. Participation is flexible, allowing members to contribute as their schedules permit.
If you are interested in volunteering with OLLI, please contact the OLLI office at 717-771-4015.
Inclement Weather Policy
In case of inclement weather, please check radio station WSBA, TV station WGAL 8, or the Penn State York website for updates on delays or cancellations.
