For eight years, OLLI at Penn State York has offered a wide variety of courses, tours, events and activities for people who want to learn, for the love of learning. Many classes are led by members who have passion and expertise in history, literature, the performing arts, religion, business, technology, government, law, health, gardening, food, the sciences, and on, and on. Additionally, OLLI reaches out to historical sites, museums, artists, faith communities, Penn State York faculty, and others, to provide programs and opportunities to learn about what makes our region so special. Members have formed interest groups, and have engaged in intergenerational opportunities with area college students; they’ve travelled together, and have cemented strong friendships. As part of the Penn State community, OLLI members enjoy full access to the Glatfelter Library, discounts to select performances at the Pullo Center, and, through a partnership with the York Symphony Orchestra, members can register for special courses featuring an in-depth presentation and discussion of the music to be performed, offered by the Music Director and Conductor of the York Symphony, Lawrence Golan. Registration for each session includes a ticket to the performance the next evening.
Why OLLI? Because Curiosity Never Retires!
